The Joe Farmer recreation center is a public building located g in Allen, Texas area. The center's primary aim is to help citizens experience recreational activities, enhance a healthy lifestyle, and gain new skills.

Center Features

The Joe Farmer Recreation Center has:

·         Game area with foosball, air hockey, and table tennis

·         2 handball and racquetball courts

·         2-lane interior track (1 mile = 17 laps)

·         Full-size Gymnasium with 6 accredited–height basketball goals

·         Workout room with free weights, weight machines, and cardiovascular machines

·         Hillside auditorium and conference rooms

·         Locker rooms

·         Jogging and walking tracks

The center also has rooms that the public can rent for events.

The facilities have parking lots designed for the handicapped and can be accessed using wheelchairs. The majority are fitted with smart front doors as well as some spacious parking areas for ramp-accessible automobiles.

The Joe Farmer Recreation Center allows both residents and non-residents to acquire the facility's memberships. Adult members are allowed to access the facility's full use, including the gym.

Fitness and Wellness

The facility has a well-equipped workout room with free weights, weight machines, and cardiovascular machines. The center promotes and supports active and safe lifestyles. The facility admits members aged 16 and above. 14- and 15-year-olds can be permitted to use the facilities if they are in the company of adult members. You must have a membership card to access the gym room. Members are required to always wear closed shoes and shirts while in the gym room.

Camps

When schools break, Joe Farmer Recreation Camp offers a safe and adequately supervised environment for kids. They offer several educational and interactive camps. Some activities that they expose children to include field trips, crafts, arts, special occasions, and others. Other camps offered at the center are sports camps, spring vacation camps, and holiday camps.

They also have an exclusive camp known as "Traditional Day Camp" (Camp STAR) that is dedicated to kids between 5 and 12 years of age. Kids gracing Camp STAR must have graduated from kindergarten when it starts and should not have started seventh grade by the time the camp ends.
