Allen Station Park Features
The Edge Skate Park
The Edge Skate Park is on the south edge of Allen Station Park. It was officially opened to the public on June 4, 2005. The park, which acts as a visitor center complex, has a visitor center, BMX track, 2-roller hockey rinks, and a concrete skate park. The skate park forms one of the largest and unique amenities in the state. The outdoor skate space runs from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. The timing applies to all skate spaces. The BMX track is accessible from 8 a.m. to sunset. However, the operating hours also vary with seasons. Members of the public are not required to pay to use the outdoor facilities, and any member of the public can access them.
Softball Fields
Allen is a sports destination for most sports and tournament players. The main reason why players choose Allen is the city's dedication to quality-maintained sports grounds. At Allen Station Park, four man-made turf diamonds excite softball tournament organizers. What distinguishes this field from others in Allen is that the whole field is installed. The synthetic turf offers the Allen Station Park fields a more even playing space, and it's more tolerant to weather, which makes them accessible at all times.
Between the baseball and softball grounds, there are play areas for children aged 2 to 5 and older children ages 5 to 12. The play area includes a mini zip-line, hanging rings, a swing set, a crawling tunnel, and two slides. The park is tidy and accommodates kids of all ages. Other facilities in the park include a walking trail, drinking fountains, washrooms, picnic tables, and barbecue pits.
